Mission Statement
Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home rescues geriatric, special needs, and hospice animals, and provides them with a loving home, a warm bed, compassionate care, and the dignity they deserve in their final days. Our goal is to make sure that no animal dies alone, afraid, or unloved.
About This Cause
Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home is a completely volunteer-run 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue founded in 2010 to ensure that homeless geriatric, special needs, and hospice animals receive quality care and the dignified end of life they deserve. The rescue provides 24 hour palliative care in a home environment, as well as physical therapy, holistic and traditional treatments, and daily enrichment that ensures that the last chapter of life for the animals we rescue is the best chapter. Old Souls believes that pets belong with their families so we also help families in need to provide veterinary care to their own aging animals so they can keep them at home through their final days. Old Souls is not open to the public due to the sensitive health conditions of the animals, but we welcome volunteers and donors by appointment, and we conduct tours on a limited basis. You can read more about Old Souls on our Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/OldSoulsRescue), and you can contact us directly at oldsoulsrescue@gmail.com or at 702-666-4572. Old Souls provides care to all kinds of animals, including dogs and cats, as well as livestock and tortoises. Almost all of the animals we rescue come from animal shelters in the southwest or from owners who have no next of kin and have either passed away or are themselves going into nursing homes or hospice care. Some of Old Souls’ programs include: - Palliative and end of life care for geriatric and hospice animals - Rehabilitation and physical therapy for special needs animals - Veterinary care for senior pets whose owners are not able to cover the cost of care
