About This Cause
Why LOVE GOD - SERVE TOGETHER for Disaster Preparedness COVID-19 is a current disaster/pandemic that has overwhelmed Federal, State & local governments as well as public & private organizations worldwide. Due to the lack of ample preparedness, there is a lot of room for improvement. Noah's Ark & Co. helps local community & faith-based organizations to have tools and resources in place to be resilient against future disasters . How We Do It *POD Training - Should a public health threat occur in Metro-Atlanta, Point of Dispensing organizations (or PODs) are vital in helping to save thousands of lives.There are 1.1 Million residents in Gwinnett, Newton & Rockdale counties compared to 300+ public health workers. We are inviting members of churches, temples, synagogues & mosques that dot the tri-county public health region to learn and be trained as PODs - to help save their congregations first - then extend this opportunity to their neighbors. Our goal is to create an online training platform that can train leaders of these organizations to respond appropriately and in a timely fashion when a disaster occurs. We will partner with local public health and other disaster preparedness organizations to create table top and hands-on simulated disaster exercises on a bi-annual basis to strengthen and improve each organization's response time and capacities to assist when a public health safety threat occurs.
