Imagine Scholar is founded on the belief that there are extraordinary youth in every pocket of the world. Our mission is to equip these young leaders with the integrity, skills, and mindsets necessary to shape a world they can be proud of.
About This Cause
About Imagine Scholar: Established in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province in 2010, Imagine Scholar has spent the past twelve years building a world-class youth development program in one of the world's most challenging geographies, designed to deliver high-quality purpose driven curriculum. Operating as a bolster to the existing public schooling system, Imagine Scholar is an after-school program founded on the belief that truly extraordinary young minds exist in every community. Our mission is to find and cultivate a network of exceptional young people and help them become leaders who positively impact their communities, companies, and the country. Imagine Scholar reverse engineers what it takes to be a successful adult in tomorrow’s workforce. We focus on building a durable toolkit of skills that allows our youth to thrive in a complex world. Students in our core high school program attend 25 hours a week on top of their normal school schedule. Our program spans 16 years of a young person's life (from age 14-30 years old), setting them up to stay connected to their personal goals across four important life stages: high school, university, early career, and impact phase. The impact phase is the key output in Imagine Scholar’s model where we support our alumni to create social ventures that create a ripple effect in their community and South Africa as a whole. Volunteering Opportunities: Are you interested in mentoring one of our program alumni? We would love to pair you up with an individual or group of young people currently in university or in their early careers, for mentorship. Provide guidance on life skills of being a young professional and young adult in the world and/or career guidance for those interested in pursuing work in your field of expertise.
