Mission Statement
The mission of Schools for Justice Foundation (SFJ) is to provide educational opportunities and loving childcare to the community of New Georgia, Liberia. Schools for Justice assists disadvantaged and marginalized youth and adults by fully funding an adult night school program and an orphanage serving 39 children. We work alongside our Liberian partners, equipping and empowering them to build a brighter future for their country in the aftermath of a devastating civil war. All SFJ work here in the US is done by volunteers, so 100% of donations go directly to field work and 100% of our projects are managed by local Liberians.
About This Cause
The Schools for Justice Foundation believes: • Every human being has the fundamental right to an education. • An education is the first and most crucial step to self-empowerment. • Children are the future of a healthy, thriving community. • Working within the community, as opposed to above it, is the most effective way to have a lasting impact The Schools for Justice Foundation strives to foster local partnerships in all of its projects. We believe that education and proper childcare for all Liberians are essential rights, not privileges. Further, we assert that the lack of these rights is the primary driver of poverty in Liberia. We invite willing citizens of New Georgia to partner with us in breaking this cycle of poverty by providing educational opportunities and childcare for orphans in the community. Rather than imposing beliefs or frameworks, we work with dedicated, visionary members of the community who want to improve their own lives, as well as the lives of their peers and children.
