Mission Statement

As a relief and development nonprofit in Colombia, Conviventia breaks the cycle of poverty by strengthening children, adults, families and communities through a broad range of programs based on empowerment and sustainability.

About This Cause

Our Programs: We fight poverty by tackling problems in all areas of life, providing basic necessities like food and medical outreach or higher mindset changes and education centered on foundational values and self-worth, enabling newly strengthened communities to continue to grow long after our initial improvements succeed. We believe our best assets are the people, and by giving the people the means and the knowledge to escape poverty, they can forge their own path to success. Our Locations: We work with impoverished communities outside the major cities of Bogota, Barranquilla and Cartagena, Colombia. We also are part of the CLARA network across Latin America. Our Strengths: A rich history of mission work in impoverished communities for over 50 years; A staff of over 200 on the ground in Colombia; Partnerships with Major Foundations, the Government of Colombia, United Nations Development Program, Churches in Houston and many others; We have four schools with over 3000 students; two adult technical training and employment centers with over 1200 students; a children’s protection and family strengthening program and annual direct impacts to over 10,000 children and families each year.
