WRC is dedicated to improving communities through a combination of social and technical (sociotechnical) solutions that drive economic development, innovate technology and create digital equity.
About This Cause
Since its founding in 2010, WRC has grown from an independent, nonprofit, research and engineering technology center to a multidisciplinary group dedicated to transforming communities through a combination of social and technical (sociotechnical) solutions that drive economic development, innovate technology and create digital equity. WRC delivers on its mission through three primary initiatives: (1) WRC Technologies: WRC Technologies is an innovation hub dedicated to applied wireless research and engineering. Focused on the development, engineering, and testing of antenna, RF and wireless technologies, WRC Technologies fosters global collaboration with companies, industry groups, academic institutions and other research organizations to deliver products and services that advance wireless technology innovation. (2) RIoT: RIoT is an economic development initiative focused on emerging data companies and technologies, including IoT, Web 3.0 and metaverse. Locally, regionally and globally, RIoT brings together academics, industry leaders, investors and entrepreneurs through a startup accelerator, community events, education, and research and development. (3) Connected Communities: Connected Communities bridges the digital divide with high-speed, open-access broadband networks, upskilling, and job creation and placement for underserved communities in the US.
