Mission Statement
Forever Fed provides grocery support to families in North Georgia. We utilize a self-select method of food distribution. Our pantry guests select the foods they wish to eat which returns the dignity of choice back to the pantry guests. This method also makes us great stewards of the foods we distribute. We provide thousands of pounds of grocery support to families each week and we know the food they receive will be something they will eat. Our services are all mobile: we travel to high-need suburban neighborhoods to reach families who lack access to other food support services for a variety of reasons. We serve the under-served demographic of society regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, disability, political beliefs, or religious affiliation. About This Cause
Forever Fed is different from other non-profits in that we travel to the people we serve instead of asking them to come to us. There is no desk nor building or lack of transportation as a barrier in the way of receiving support. As we travel to impoverished neighborhoods with food and volunteers, we also raise awareness of poverty in our community as our volunteers witness families in need right where they live. We are a faith-based non-profit but we do not preach at our events. If our guests wish to ask us why we do what we do, that's when we share our beliefs in a peaceful manner. We believe our active service preaches louder than words. We believe making small and consistent positive investments of time, physical resources, and energy in a struggling community will net positive results. We serve at the same location at the same time on the same day every month. Serving consistently in this predictable way helps the neighborhoods we visit plan out their resources and anticipate our arrival each month. We distribute food to families in need in many ways. 1. Mobile Food Pantries-Distributing groceries via a "self-select" model where guests can select foods they wish to eat. 2. Cans4Kids/Food4U boxes-Boxes of non-perishable foods, frozen meats, and bread are delivered by volunteers to homes of approved families. Most recipients are home-bound senior citizens, many of whom are on special diets. Some families are single parents with disabilities, transportation issues, or they work two jobs and have little time to visit food pantries for support. This program is strictly for families who cannot travel to food pantries for support. 3. We provide weekend food bags to elementary students at high risk of food insecurity through a local school. We also provide food boxes to those students to provide proper nutrition over longer school holidays. Forever Fed Collaborates With... 1. The Atlanta Community Food Bank 2. We share food product with several area food pantries 3. We partner with local gardeners and a farmer's market to receive fresh produce. 4. We partner with local Churches and bodies of faith who are like-minded in serving the under-served in our community. 5. Area businesses including but not limited to Aldi, Sprouts, Publix, Sams' Club and other local businesses. 6. We partner with the Cherokee County Sherriff's Department who help us identify high-need communities. The officers accompany the food pantry distributions in neighborhoods to help build trust with their community through community outreach.
