Mission Statement
Amistad Worldwide focuses on helping the poorest of the poor in Andhra Pradesh, India, Nepal, and Uganda, Africa. We work directly with local residents who strive with us to meet needs cost effectively, and 100% of all donated money goes to help those in need. Our goal is to maximize the donations of those who will partner with us to reach the most vulnerable.
About This Cause
Amistad Worldwide strives to help the poorest of the poor-those who earn $1 a day or less. We believe in a hand up rather than a hand out whenever possible and hope to provide long term, sustainable solutions to poverty. We have helped create jobs for hundreds of local people, including establishing 45 sewing centers for training and employing hundreds of poor widows, installing over 4,000 wells which is providing jobs for 50 local people, and agricultural projects. 100% of all donated money goes to help those in need. No one takes a salary from this charity and all fundraising is funded and carried out by volunteers. As President of Amistad Worldwide, I, Tracy Alin, travel to our fields once or twice a year at my own expense to personally check on the status of our programs. I welcome any questions you may have, and I thank you for considering the needs of the most vulnerable. Here is more information on projects in which we are engaged. Our largest projects are in India. Over the past 11 years, we have helped rescue over 1000 orphans from garbage dumps, brothels, and the streets. These children can be sponsored for $15 a month, which provides shelter, food, and education. We also care for 2,000 widows every month, providing them food, clothing, blankets, and health care as well as encouragement. It is $2.50 per month to sponsor a widow and 100% of that goes to the widow. We have established 20 sewing centers and helped over 1,000 women complete training and find employment as a tailor. It's $136 to provide a sewing machine and training for one woman. We care for 180 people with leprosy every month. It costs $6 to provide for each one’s needs which includes, food, blankets and clothes, medicine, and transportation to and from the hospital. In 2014, Amistad established a project called Waters of Love which has helped place more than 4,000 wells in poor villages that lack clean drinking water. Each well serves 1,000-3,000 people. The cost is $190 with 100% going to India. This included the cost of a plaque placed on the well and can include the name of the sponsor. We have reached over 4 million people with clean water in 4 states in India. We also care for orphans in Nepal and Uganda, and have helped establish schools. Please let me know if you have an interested in a monthly sponsorship or additional information of any type. Please join us in this awesome work!! Sincerely, Tracy Alin President Amistad Worldwide
