Anchor Point champions the future of children by educating and empowering parents because no one is beyond hope.
About This Cause
WHO IS ANCHOR POINT WHY IT MATTERS Anchor Point is a 501(c)(3) founded to assist hurting children and families in 2011. Anchor Point has positively impacted thousands of families and children in the greater Houston area in the last decade. Anchor Point is unique in that it encompasses several divisions with a sustainable approach offering prevention and/or healing and treatment through multiple locations. For over a decade, hundreds of volunteers with backgrounds from administrative to skilled medical fields have helped to make the mission of Anchor Point possible; championing the future of children by educating and empowering parents because no one is beyond hope. There are four divisions; Our medical division, Obria Medical Clinic Houston Bay Area, Hope Family Centers in League City and Seabrook and AP Hope House LLC. To learn more and take a tour please contact us at info@anchorpoint.us to schedule a tour of any of our locations. More about OBRIA Our medical division, Obria Medical Clinic Houston Bay Area, was opened in May 2019 and works to educate the public on health topics related to well woman and specifically, maternal pregnancy care. Additionally, Obria supports the health of local communities through well woman and early pregnancy detection medical care. A large portion of Anchor Point OBRIA and Hope Family Center League City clients come from underserved populations. These visits ranged from well woman, STI testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, and ultrasounds for confirmations of a health pregnancy. More about Hope Family Centers. Hope Family center League City has been impacting clients since 2011. Over the course of 2019, Hope Family Center in League City served over 320 clients with intake, counseling options, education, parenting training, material needs assistance, and crisis care with over 1,100 client service visits. Of those seen, an estimated 80% or more were at or below the federal poverty line. Through Anchor Point’s Hope League City’s recovery groups, throughout our community, dozens of individuals have found healing and ongoing support. The Seabrook location houses our licensed counselors and counseling interns, and handles one-on-one, couple and family counseling along with therapeutic camps and Discover Adoption courses helping prospective adoptive parents in an informative course learn the ins and outs of many types of adoption. At our Seabrook Hope Family Center, over 1,500 hours of counseling services have been provided for issues ranging from depression, anxiety, addiction, suicidal tendencies, sensory issues and more. Our team works to not only help these children and their families survive but also to help them thrive. More about Hope House Maternity Home Hope House is our 18 month residential program for homeless pregnant girls ages 16-24. Each of these girls will have the opportunity to not only have their child and to learn about parenting but to work on education, spiritual, life skills, and more. The ultimate goal is to prepare them for independent living and taking care of their child. More about Hope Community. Anchor Point’s last division is a new initiative for 2023. We will be developing education seminar, classes and more for our community at large to increase their parenting skills. We will work alongside the court system with parents who are struggling.
