Mission Statement

Community Education Partnerships' mission is to increase the learning opportunities and enhance the academic achievement of homeless and highly mobile youth.

About This Cause

The purpose of Community Education Partnerships (CEP) is to provide educational support to homeless children in the Bay Area. As compared to their stably housed peers, the thousands of homeless and highly mobile (HHM) students enrolled in San Francisco Bay Area schools are twice as likely to score poorly on standardized tests and four times as likely to drop out of school. Moreover, they are eight times more likely to repeat grades, two times more likely to go hungry, and seven times more likely to attempt suicide. The primary function of CEP is to recruit and train volunteers to provide high-quality, individualized academic tutoring and mentoring for homeless and highly mobile children in the pre- kindergarten-12th grade school system. CEP also hosts enrichment activities such as field trips, Summer Reading Clubs, Back to School Nights, Homework Clubs, Computer Clubs, and Family Reading Nights for our students and families. CEP provides all of its students with grade-appropriate backpacks, school supplies, and books.
