Mission Statement
4 R Friends: The Street Vets provides live preserving and emergency care for pets owned by unhoused and low income members of the Sacramento area.
About This Cause
4 R Friends is an all volunteer powered, all donor funded grassroots non-profit animal rescue organization. We believe that pets dying in our over-crowded animal shelters is a community problem, and that is requires a community solution. That's why we rescue dogs and cats catastrophic medical conditions, who would otherwise be euthanized in our local shelters. We also provide essential veterinary medical services and supplies to low income and indigent pet owners, to help keep their beloved pets happy, healthy, and at home, out of the shelter in the first place. Our data driven programs bring the resources to the point of need within our most underserved communities. We base our delivery of services on Harm Reduction/Trauma Informed services models.
