Mission Statement
Weekend Survival Kit backpack program feeds homeless Baltimore City School children plus 2 family members with shelf-stable food designed for homeless living situations and providing sufficient caloric and nutritional food on weekends when school food is not available and the children go hungry and the parents are stressed. This 10-year old program has been described by principals as increasing "Joy" in the children served. Also providing dental hygiene items and coats for the winter season.
About This Cause
Heart's Place Services, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Charity focused on the homeless in Baltimore City with the main purpose of providing help to homeless children and their families. All services are provided by volunteers and our volunteer board members all have long histories of service to the poor and donate their own personal funds to the organization. We seek funding from churches, individuals, corporations, fundraising events, and seek opportunities to expand the numbers we serve through these donations. Donations are spent in purchasing additional food for this purpose. Special events are held to provide food to associations providing services to unaccompanied homeless youth as well. Our coat program collects used coats which we wash and dry clean and distribute to schools, shelters, hospitals and other groups servicing the poor and homeless. Heart's Place Services, Inc. partners with other organizations to enhance the reach of our assistance to as many people as possible. We are presently building homes for the working poor homeless families to purchase through specialized funding and resources.
