Mission Statement
Drugs & Diagnostics for Tropical Diseases (DDTD) is a unique non-profit (501c3) venture based in San Diego, CA, with a mission “to discover new treatments and develop diagnostics for neglected tropical diseases and other diseases that affect impoverished populations”. These diseases have been typically neglected from research and development efforts due to the perceived lack of profitability. DDTD aspires to provide programs that have a global reach, as well as provide direct benefits to local communities and residents within the United States, and in our own local region, San Diego. DDTD has a successful track record of developing rapid tests for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), and works closely with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC), the Nationals Institutes of Health (NIH), the Taskforce for Global Health, the Carter Center, the County of San Diego, and several other organizations.

We are passionate about serving the needs of the underprivileged within our capacity as scientists and believe it is important to increase public awareness of the dire need to improve global health. DDTD has successfully developed a portfolio of rapid diagnostic tests, ranging from fully commercialized tests for the disease, Loaisis, Phase II test for Lymphatic Filariasis, as well as concept projects, such as rapid tests to detect Hepatitis A and other diseases that affect impoverished populations.
