Educate Tanzania Inc (ETI) partners with developing communities in Tanzania to promote and sustain social and economic prosperity through education and business.
About This Cause
Educate Tanzania Inc is a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization focused on alleviating poverty through education and agribusiness. We partner with the most effective organizations in the world to leverage expertise and resources as together. After the successful completion of Karagwe University College (KARUCO), we moved forward to establish a Rural Opportunity Center (ROC) or entrepreneurial zone. The ROC will provide a place where KARUCO graduates and area farm families can bring goods to be marketed, crops to be processed into value-added products; where community members can be trained in new methods of technology, business and agriculture and where farmers can rent tractors and farm implements. ROCs are focused on entrepreneurial agribusiness, will empower women right alongside of men, and will alleviate poverty in rural Tanzania. Our upright and progressive partner, the Karagwe Diocese (KAD) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (ELCT) has the deed for the land in rural Karagwe and has the management team to carry out its goals. Local leadership combined with global support assures us that social and economic transformation are right around the corner. ETI is 100% volunteer based. Our partners include BE Design (Architects) of New York, the University of Minnesota, EARTH University of Costa Rica; the University of St. Thomas, Johnston Law Group and a variety of regional and international organizations who are aligned with ETI goals. To date, ETI has leveraged over $2.6M in cash, grant and in-kind donations to bring about amazing results since inception in 2010. There is room for everyone at ETI.
