About This Cause
Deaf Spotlight, noticing a dearth of Deaf cultural experiences in King County, was established to offer a variety of artistic and performing events to fruition, such as Seattle Deaf Film Festival (SDFF), theatrical productions, workshops, and other events to celebrate and preserve ASL and Deaf culture. Since its inception in January 2011, have produced over 180 events, including the biennial SDFF and biennial theatrical productions featuring scripts by Deaf playwrights, directed by Deaf directors and Deaf ensembles. We are committed to produce one major event each year, alternating between the film festival and a theatrical production, spotlighting various artists, actors, and performers and their works.
