The mission of STEPS, Inc. is to end violence and strengthen families in our community by offering training, education, prevention programs, and services which enhance safety, promote accountability, and encourage solutions
About This Cause
Founded in 2010, STEPS Family Resource Center is a small 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen families in the River Valley community by offering services to those facing challenges. Home-like visitation rooms are offered for those needing supervised visitation services. 100 Families Case Managers act as family advocates for parents working to complete DCFS case plans. Weekly educational classes are available to those desiring to improve parenting skills, negative behavior and life skills. We also serve as a liaison between the individual and the community, by referring clients to other agencies for various resources. STEPS also offers mental health counseling for individuals of all ages in the community, as well as couples and family therapy. Therapeutic supervised visitation, TOVA testing (ADHD assessment), and Brainspotting are also available. Please visit our website for insurances currently accepted for counseling services.
