Mission Statement

Since 1956, the mission of Senior Resource Connection is to provide collaborative services that support seniors, adults with special needs, and their caregivers. We are proud to be part of a community where we annually serve 15,000 clients and employ 275 dedicated staff in various programs. Our primary focus is home-delivered services that enable our clients to continue living in their homes while maintaining quality independent lives. Montgomery County is our general service area, but many of our program services, described below, extend into surrounding counties.

About This Cause

Meals on Wheels is the only local provider for hot nutritious and delicious meals delivered daily to the client’s door. Special diet/therapeutic foods and kosher meals are also available to meet the unique needs of each client. More than a meal, our trained drivers provide a friendly and daily personal contact that improves the lives of our clients and their family’s sense of well-being. Congregate Dining provides dining experiences for lonely seniors age 60 and older who wish to enjoy the company of others during meals. Our agency partners with several restaurants, senior centers, churches, and other public facilities in Dayton and outlying areas to create low-cost, nutritious meals served in a group setting. Suggested contribution is $2, but no one will be turned away for nonpayment. Some sites require reservations. Visiting Home Care provides assistance in each client’s home with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping when health problems arise. Our friendly, well qualified staff is on call 24 hours each day to address the ongoing needs of our clients. Rep Payee Program serves nearly 350 Montgomery County residents age 60 and older in need of an independent party to address the handling of their ongoing financial affairs. The program is certified by the Social Security Administration as an authorized representative payee program working in conjunction with Adult Protective Services. Community Geriatric Assessment Nurse Program provides Montgomery County residents age 60 and older an opportunity for a comprehensive health care assessment and referrals to pertinent other healthcare professionals. Face to face assessments are completed by experienced Registered Nurses. Care Coordination/Caregiver Support services are based upon an individualized care plan that is mutually developed between the client, their caregiver and the Care Manager responsible for the coordination of the designated services. The Care Manager, a Registered Nurse, reviews the information and completes a comprehensive in home assessment using considerations such as income and functional level. Case Management services allow for the in-home intervention by professional case managers, who assist individuals age 60 and older in establishing a network of services that promote continued independent living. Emergency Response Systems include Philips Lifeline™, an easy-to-use medical alert service designed to reduce the risk of living alone. In the event of a fall or emergency, help is available at the push of a button. The Lifeline Personal Help Button connects you to a trained Personal Response Associate who can send help quickly - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
