About This Cause
Since 1970, the Center for Addiction Treatment (CAT) has offered help and hope to the alcoholic/drug addict through addiction treatment, without regard for the person’s ability to pay for the service. Over the past 50 years, CAT has mastered the art of addiction treatment, and is considered a leader in implementing best practice and evidence-based practices as science and research have opened ever broadening insight into the medical basis of addiction. CAT’s staff of nearly 100 persons, including nurses, doctors and counselors, assures that quality care is provided 24-hours a day, 7-days a week in the medical Detox and short-term (28-day) residential programs. A 12-week Continuing Care Program and our Peer Mentor Program offer patients the opportunity to form a deeper connection with the recovery community, helping the patient to more readily integrate back into the community after treatment. CAT’s Strengthening Families Program educates families about addiction and its effects so family members can begin the healing process. As a not-for-profit, the majority of operating revenue comes from public sources, the largest being the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board. In FY2020, Heroin/Opiates were the primary drug of choice for 63% of our patients; 98% reported annual income below the federal poverty level. CAT served just over 1,200 men and women over 18 in our residential treatment program last year. Continuous accreditation by The Joint Commission since 1975 is a testament to the quality of CAT’s services and administration. Additionally the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services certifies CAT to provide residential and outpatient care.
