About This Cause
Dayton Live (formerly Victoria Theatre Association) is Dayton’s premier arts organization and among the largest real estate owners in downtown Dayton. We present a variety of performances and events for all ages and interests while operating and maintaining the Schuster Performing Arts Center, Victoria Theatre, Loft Theatre, PNC Arts Annex, and Arts Garage. Our mission is to strengthen community engagement in the arts through inspiring performances, educational opportunities, and world class venues. Our vision is to elevate a thriving downtown experience as the primary host and presenter for performing arts in the region. As our community’s home for arts, culture and entertainment, Dayton Live remains dedicated to enriching people’s lives by presenting diverse opportunities to learn and enjoy the arts. The Victory Theatre Association was originally incorporated in 1976, and the Victory Theatre was purchased in 1978. The Arts Center Foundation (ACF) acquired the Victory Theatre in 1988 and completed a $17.5 million renovation project and rechristened it the Victoria Theatre, and Victory Theatre Association became Victoria Theatre Association (VTA). VTA entered a partnership with ACF, owner of the facilities VTA managed in 2000, and began construction on the Schuster Performing Arts Center which opened in 2003. The relationship between VTA and ACF was restructured in 2012, with ACF becoming a supporting Type 2 organization to VTA. To better serve our community and reflect our mission, VTA and Ticket Center Stage merged brands in 2020 becoming Dayton Live. With a new logo, website and brand identity, Dayton Live proudly recognizes our legacy and looks forward to the next chapter in our history. Our Tax I.D. number remains the same and Victoria Theatre Association exists as the legal entity doing business as Dayton Live. Each year Dayton Live presents more than 300 performances as part of the Premier Health Broadway in Dayton, Dayton Children’s Family Series, Discovery Series, Projects Unlimited Star Attractions, AES Ohio Cheap Seats, Universal 1 Credit Union Music Series and National Geographic Live Series and our ticketing service is used by others renting our performance venues. Led by our Board of Trustees, Dayton Live strives to elevate a thriving downtown experience as the primary host and presenter for performing arts in the Miami Valley. We value partnerships with resident companies and numerous organizations to bring record-setting audiences to downtown Dayton.
