Mission Statement
Our Mission What: ProKids mobilizes our community to break the vicious cycle of child abuse and neglect. How: ProKids helps our community discover the power of investing in the promise of our children. We recruit, train, and support community volunteers to speak up for children who have been abused and neglected and help guide them into safe environments where they can thrive. ProKids creates alliances within the child protection system to maximize outcomes for our children. Why: To create a new cycle of growing up safe and secure, fundamentally changing the future for our children and our entire community.
About This Cause
Each year, hundreds of children are so severely abused and neglected that they become part of the Hamilton County child protection system. Most of these children were taken from the only family they have ever known, and placed in foster care. These child victims need a powerful voice, an advocate on behalf of their best interests. This is where ProKids CASA volunteers come in. More than 99% of children represented by ProKids are free from abuse. This is a rate we have maintained for more than two decades. By working together, we create a path to a safe, permanent and nurturing home for every child. ProKids aspires to help every child find a safe, permanent, and nurturing home. We know that to best serve every child, we must include a rich diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences in a secure and welcoming environment. ProKids believes that by mobilizing a diverse community of allies who are vested in children’s well-being, we can break the cycle of abuse and neglect. We include many voices coming together to speak up for our children. ProKids recognizes that we are on a learning journey and as an organization we will continue to evolve. We pledge to make sure all members of our community have equitable access to opportunities and all of our children are given the chance to succeed. It is vitally important that each member of our community actively upholds the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. To serve our children, it takes a community committed to continuous learning about others.
