CLARK COUNTY LITERACY COALITION

Springfield, Ohio, 45502 United States

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to raising the functional literacy levels in reading, writing, listening and speaking for all the residents of Clark and surrounding counties.

About This Cause

Clark County Literacy Center is a grassroots non-profit, based in the Warder Literacy, located in downtown Springfield, Ohio. The organization functions as a tutor recruiting, training and support center where individuals can get one-on-one tutoring in one of three programs: Adult Basic Literacy, Adult English for Speakers of Other Languages and Teaching Children to Read. The organization also raises the funding for these programs so that the tutoring does not become a financial burden to anyone needing basic literacy help. Key fundraising events: Women's Night Out, July 4th Rummage Sale, Mystery Dinner Theater, Race For Literacy and Warm Up at Warder with Mrs. Claus. Volunteers do the lion's share of the work with the staff facilitating the process.
