JAMES RIVER BASIN PARTNERSHIP

Springfield, Missouri, 65807 United States

Mission Statement

James River Basin Partnership is a grassroots, not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization working to improve and protect the water quality of the springs, streams, rivers, and lakes in the James River watershed which consists of almost a million acres of land in portions of eight counties.

About This Cause

Since James River Basin Partnership's inception in 1997, our volunteers, members, and staff have committed through action, education, and research, to preserve and protect water quality within the James River basin and our beautiful Ozarks landscape. Each year, JRPB staff and volunteers organize a variety of educational events, including litter cleanups, water quality monitoring field days, eco-tours, educational workshops and presentations for students and adults. Our goal is to educate the next generations of “water warriors” about the importance of protecting our local water resources. In addition to outreach and education, JRBP works closely with state and federal agencies to implement best management practices that improve runoff, restore and protect streambanks and riparian areas, and preserve wildlife habitat.
