Mission Statement

The Road Home Dane County provides opportunities for homeless children and their families to achieve self-determined goals and affordable, stable housing. The Road Home has been serving homeless families with children since 1999. In partnership with congregations and community organizations, we offer assistance to homeless families by providing: connecting families to stable housing; CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES to help families transform their lives and break the cycle of homelessness; HOUSING PROGRAMS to make affordable housing and support available to families who could not otherwise access housing and being part of a community-wide action to provide lasting solutions to pull families out of homelessness. The Road Home annually serves more than 250 families, including over 500 children.

About This Cause

The Road Home Dane County, founded in 1999, is committed to ending family homelessness in our community. We work with families, not only to relieve the immediate crisis of homelessness, but also to build skills, resources and relationships that set the stage for long-term success. Case managers work closely with the families to not only relieve the immediate crisis of homelessness, but to provide broad-based services that set goals, overcome barriers, build skills and access resources and relationships that set the stage for long-term success. Services include housing, employment, transportation, food, clothing, finances, education, health, social and other needs. The Road Home operates fourteen different housing programs to support families with children moving from homelessness to stable, safe housing. In 2022, The Road Home served 265 families including 619 children. The Road Home is the only agency within Dane County that works exclusively with families experiencing homelessness.
