Mission Statement
Muslim Family Services of Ohio strives to build strong families, stabilizing those in crisis and empowering families to reach their potential for self sufficiency.
About This Cause
Founded in 1993 by three women who saw a need in the community, our mission was to assist women who were struggling. They began with a phone line in one of their homes and answered the calls for help. Today, we are still answering the call for help. We provide comprehensive services to ultimately empower families to reach independence. Our office houses a food pantry, free clothing and household items, ESL and women's empowerment programs as well as seasonal programs such as School Supplies and Backpacks, Tax Preparation, Winter Coats and Blankets and Holiday Gifts. Our staff include a licensed social worker and family advocate to provide critical assessment of need and appropriate connection to resources. We are able to provide emergency financial assistance to prevent evictions, utility shut offs and other basic needs. Our services are enhanced by a team of language interpreters to eliminate barriers for our clients who are seeking jobs, need mediation and advocacy or resources. Our services span a lifetime, helping a family welcome a newborn with needed supports, through to end of life care and assisting with burial rituals. Your support provides direct relief and assistance to those trying to stabilize a life in crisis, and on behalf of those we serve, we are grateful.
