Mission Statement
The AAUW Florida Supporting Foundation, a charitable and educational, non-profit organization supports projects that advance equity and education for women and girls. The major project is the Florida Tech Trek one week summer camps for qualified girls that are designed to create interest and enthusiasm for STEM fields as well as develop self-confidence in girls entering 8th grade in the fall. The camps are supported by contributions to the Foundation and are free to the attendees except for a $50 registration fee. The long term goal is to have the girls become employed in one of the STEM areas
About This Cause
The Florida AAUW Supporting Foundation is organized for charitable and educational purposes in order to advance equity for Florida Women and Girls by supporting projects of AAUW Florida and making distributions to organizations that also advance equity and education for women and girls and qualify as a non-profit tax exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.
