About This Cause
Poway OnStage is the d.b.a. for the Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation -- a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1991 with the mission to entertain, educate and enrich through powerful, live performances. This coming season will be our 27th year of providing our services to thousands of adults and children throughout North County. We have two programs: (1) Professional Performance Season (Sept.-May). We offer live performances of music, drama, dance and comedy by nationally and internationally-recognized artists. Attendance at the the performances we bring to the Poway Center for the Performing Arts continues to be strong, with nearly 8,000 audience members each year. (2) Arts and Education Initiative (Oct.-June). Established in 1999, this is our collaboration with the Poway Unified School District where we annually provide performing arts activities and workshops for children. We annually serve 4,300+ children (K-12), including those who are low income and/or academically at-risk who attend Title 1 schools in our area. Our program serves schools in the Poway Unified School District that encompasses Poway, Rancho Penasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain, Sabre Springs, Santa Luz, 4S Ranch, and Del Sur.
