Mission Statement

Chabad believes that community is vital for the growth of the human spirit. We, therefore, provide a space where people come together to celebrate, to study, to care, to heal and to mourn. Chabad's goal is to encourage people to live a more meaningful life by sharing their passions, ideas and inspirations with others. To care for others in their community and to be cared for by others in turn. We provide Jewish oriented programs, events, lectures, prayer services, study groups, outings and meals that bring people together in a shared interdependent space where they can grow together. Join us at one of our upcoming events and see for yourself!

About This Cause

Chabad is a Hebrew acronym for "Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge". Founded in 1772 , Chabad promotes the mystical, traditional, legal and social principles of the Torah, while using modern methods and technology for education, community outreach, crisis intervention, and other social services. Motivated by a profound love for humanity and spurred by boundless optimism, the "Rebbe", who assumed leadership of the Chabad movement in 1950 lifted the global Jewish community from the ashes of the Holocaust and launched an unprecedented range of Jewish institutions, outreach programs and social services. Chabad of Laguna Beach is proud to offer social services, hospital visitations, counseling, programs for the special needs in our city, synagogue services, adult education, and a wide range of youth programs and events. Community Lectures throughout the year include speakers on the Holocaust, current events, Israel and more.
