Mission Statement
Since its origin in 1991, AHAC has been involved helping disabled and very poor children in Vietnam to lead a more normal life. Our mission statement “To provide services and equipment for children in Vietnam and other Asian countries who are underprivileged by virtue of physical or mental disability, poverty or absence of family" has guided us in the development of our programs and special projects.
About This Cause
We are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization. Our Mission Statement guides us to assist children of Southeast Asian countries who, through no fault of their own, do not have access to basic amenities of life including healthcare, hearing care, education health, water, schools and other things. Our programs provide hearing aids, access to schools (bicycles, bridges), scholarships, safe water, and even school buildings and school supplies. We have no paid staff, own no buildings or vehicles, pay no rent and limit expenses to postage, and limited costs of putting on a fundraising dinner annually. Therefore we proudly state that at least 95% of money donated to AHAC goes directly into our programs and projects. We visit Vietnam 2-4 times per year with teams from 1-20 to directly direct and monitor our projects. Each volunteer pays for their own airfare, hotels, most meals, and other expenses. Volunteers are paid in "spiritual income" which all report to be worth more than salary.
