Mission Statement
Tierra Bonita Educational Foundation is a parent/community-funded, parent-managed, non-profit education fund. The mission of TBEF is to partner with parents, teachers, staff, and businesses to enrich and enhance learning for every Tierra Bonita student by providing funding, resources, and support for educational opportunities above and beyond those provided with school and district funds.
About This Cause
With support and donations from Tierra Bonita families and local businesses, TBEF enhances teaching and learning in the following ways: 1. Support hands-on, interactive science learning at school through funding a STEM teacher to have one campus October - May. Promote integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics experiences through exposure to coding and robotics. 2. Provide iPads, peripheral hardware, applications, and professional learning support to promote innovative and individualized teaching and learning across subject areas. TBEF strives to keep technology up-to-date to maximize the positive impact of technology on teaching and learning. 3. Provide formal visual and performing arts education taught by professional art educators and artists. Visual arts lessons integrate visual art and art history and performing arts lessons engage students in singing, dancing, and acting. 4. Fund additional teachers and teaching hours to ensure every student is equipped with the reading skills to be successful and confident learners in all subject areas. 5. Lead a school wellness program, including providing a physical education teacher October - May whose efforts are focused on health education, including keeping kids physically active during the school day and supporting teachers and parents in guiding students toward healthy choices. 6. Form partnerships with educational opportunities within our community, including but not limited to, Poway OnStage performance art education field trips.
