Mission Statement
East of Eden K-9 Rescue is a 501c(3) companion animal rescue in central California, focusing on rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of dogs and cats in underserved areas.
About This Cause
East of Eden K-9 Rescue is a companion animal rescue founded in 2001. We are an all-volunteer, home foster-based organization, focusing mainly on dogs and cats. Our service area extends from Brentwood in eastern Contra Costa County to Santa Nella in Merced County. We are funded by the concerned citizens in the areas we serve. Our Mission: • Improve the welfare of companion animals in our service area, including rescue/adoption and feral cat management • Provide community outreach and education, particularly to underserved populations • Provide behavioral and medical rehabilitation for animals in our program, establishing best practices for these procedures • Conduct a well-run, sustainable animal rescue operation, which will serve our communities now and in the future
