About This Cause

Bamyan Foundation is a registered non-profit and non-partisan section 501(c)(3) organization in the Washington DC area. We are dedicated to promoting and providing support to at-risk populations in Afghanistan in the following key areas: education, healthcare, women empowerment, community development and youth programs. We believe that improvements in these areas will result in sustainable and equitable social development and stability in Afghanistan. Bamyan Foundation partners with reliable community-organized and community-sustained organizations that have demonstrated a sound track record of service and low overhead to create collective impact in the marginalized and underserved Hazara communities in Afghanistan. Our grassroots partner-organizations are meeting a crucial, locally identified need in Afghanistan with minimal outside assistance, and Bamyan Foundation supports their efforts to this end. We believe that continued assistance supporting programs in the above key areas will have a significant and lasting impact on social and economic mobility in Afghanistan. Our approach helps keep the overhead low as we do not have travel and accommodation costs due to a spirit of volunteerism and service coupled with an accountable and transparent system that we have established with our partners on the ground in Afghanistan. This ensures that every dollar raised goes towards our projects and those who are most in need.
