Mission Statement
The Storehouse Food Pantry distributes food to New Mexico's hungry free of charge.
About This Cause
The Storehouse has been a vital community resource to people living in Albuquerque and the surrounding areas for over 44 years. Through the distribution of free, healthy food, the state’s largest food pantry is enabling adults, children, and seniors to improve their health and economic outcomes. We also provide help for the working poor in order to support their economic mobility. All clients are provided information and registration access to local and federal benefits programs including SNAP, LIHEAP, Medicaid, Medicare Savings Programs, Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy, SSDI, and SSI, and a water subsidy for qualified low-income individuals. The Storehouse’s mission is to provide healthy, nutritious food to anyone who walks through our doors. No one is turned away. Storehouse serves the community’s most vulnerable: • Almost a third are children • Majority are families (the “working poor”) • Over half are minorities • About 20% are seniors (60 and older)
