Mission Statement

The mission of the European Cultural Centre-USA is to foster artistic relationships between Europe and the United State and to give artists and architects space to exhibit. Our goal is to create awareness, to strengthen our cultural commons, to cherish our uniqueness and to learn about the qualities within our differences. We believe that progress is best made by creating a deeper awareness about the serious challenges we all face today. We try to bring people from different cultures together in the hope that we will all learn from each other.

About This Cause

Bonnie Peterson is a US artist who embroiders climate data onto silk and velvet. Here are some examples: http://bonniepeterson.com/Works/Drought.htm http://bonniepeterson.com/Works/Insect%20Apocalypse.htm Here is a web page with my artist/scientist work: http://bonniepeterson.com/Art%2BScience.htm Next summer she has been invited to exhibit this climate artwork at the European Cultural Centre (ECC) exhibition space in Venice during the 2022 Biennale. It is a widely visited venue on the main street in Venice with approximately 500,000 visitors. Ms Peterson is looking for financial support for her part in this exhibition, which is approximately Euro 16,000. Peterson's science embroideries are an unusual presentation of data and engage viewers who might not otherwise be interested in or exposed to science. The benefit for supporters is advertising recognition at the venues and websites, and opportunities listed in this website for the sponsorship information. https://ecc-usa.eu/files/WEB%20-%202020%20Art%20Sponsors.pdf and https://ecc-usa.eu/about/sponsors But perhaps most important benefit is that the data gathered by scientific programs around the globe (NASA, NOAA, World Meteorological Organization, IPCC) will be viewed by thousands of people who might not otherwise be exposed to climate data and concepts of climate change. As a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Foundation, the ECC-USA relies on contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations to make culture available and accessible to audiences of all backgrounds with no entrance fee. Donations are 100% tax-deductible. The EIN is 35-2604998.
