Mission Statement
New Kingdom Trailriders services the greater Quad City area and surrounding communities by empowering children, adults, and military veterans facing physical, mental, emotional and social challenges to create active, healthier, and more fulfilling lives through equine assisted activities.
About This Cause
Originally started in 1984 by a group of christian horse owners wishing to help others through equine assisted activities in their front yards, Kingdom Trailriders is now a Premier Accredited PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) facility located on 26.5 acres in Sherrard, IL. Having started with just 3 riders, NKT has now grown to servicing approximately 40 each week!! NKT provides lessons, both ground and mounted, for individuals young and old who face physical, mental, social and emotional challenges. Through equine assisted activities NKT is able to empower these individuals and enrich their lives through metal stimulation, physical strengthening, emotional development and social interaction. Most of New Kingdom Trailriders' riders show significant improvement in their core strength, fine and gross motor skills, coordination, tone, mobility and verbalization after participating in their program. Each and every day New Kingdom Trailriders works to continue growing their program and reach as many individuals facing challenges as they possibly can. NKT cannot do this without the generosity of volunteers and donors like you!
