About This Cause
Calumet City Resources (CCR) is a food pantry and clothing room that is available to individuals and families in need in Calumet City , Illinois. CCR is staffed only by volunteers. The bulk of the food is purchased from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Some food donations are received from local churches and schools at various times of the year. CCR is funded by individual donations, local businesses and the City of Calumet City. Clothing is donated from individuals and churches. Most clothing is used. Once sorted it is displayed on racks or bins. In the winter we request coats, hats, boots and gloves. Some are new and some have been used but clean and ready for another's use. All clothing is free to clients but we limit coats and boots to one per individual per season.
