Mission Statement
The Cancer Support Center is here to give strength, guidance and support to anyone living with a cancer diagnosis, as well as to their loved ones.These supportive programs and services are provided at no cost to our clients and are available to anyone walking through our doors in Homewood or Mokena.
About This Cause
"Because you are living with cancer, we're here for you." This is the mission of The Cancer Support Center. Providing over 11,000 service hours throughout 2013, the Center meets the psychological and overall well being for those walking on the cancer journey. At the Center, we know that there are proven ways to help patients recover. manage and cope with the stress, anxiety, fear, and isoloation often caused by cancer and its treatments. Always at no charge to our clients, wellness and supportive programs are offered to survivors and their caregivers in five program areas: body image, education and networking, fitness and physical wellness, counseling and stress management, and nutrition and diet. Programs are always offered by highly-trained, committed professionals; and the Center, which is so generously supported by individuals, corporations and grants, support all those living in over 70 communities in Chicago's Southland. The Center is a place of help, hope and healing - for the spirit and mind so that those living with cancer can find inner strength and peace to have a high quality of life.
