Mission Statement
SHARK's mission is to nonviolently battle animal abuse whenever and wherever possible. We investigate and expose animal cruelty and work to get it stopped, including getting laws passed, public pressure, media exposure, etc. SHARK also helps the forgotten animals because all non-humans are worthy and their suffering and deaths should be stopped.
About This Cause
With a small team of investigators and the unpaid volunteer President/Founder - Steve Hindi, SHARK battles tirelessly (since 1994) to investigate, expose and force the end of animal cruelty. SHARK is the first in animal protection to use the latest and greatest technology including hi-tech drones to ensure optimum performance and results for our non-human friends. SHARK's video footage is responsible for getting a law passed in Oregon to ban horse tripping. SHARK's video footage is responsible for the law being passed in Maryland to stop the contest slaughter of Cow Nose Rays. SHARK's video footage got a law passed in Maryland to ban pigeon shoots. SHARK's video of Envigo's dog breeding facility of beagles to be used for cruel, invasive product testing and worse prompted Virginia to try to pass a law to close the facility and stop this in their state. Another bill is in legislation to pass this law. SHARK's number one tool is video footage and photographs! Using our "Angel" drones, hidden cameras, long-range lens, and even night-vision cameras, SHARK leaves no place for animal abusers to hide. SHARK's award-winning video footage and photos are supplied to law enforcement for prosecution, local, national and international media, lawmakers, the general public, courts and other animal advocacy organizations. Instead of simply saying animal cruelty is bad, SHARK gets the documentation and presents it to the world so they can see it and decide for themselves. SHARK is in the air to help animals! Using camera-equipped unmanned aerial vehicles ("Angel" drones) we can get documentation of some of the vilest forms of animal cruelty the abusers desperately want to keep hidden from the world. These "Angels" allow us to go where there are no roads, and beyond fences and walls. SHARK was the first organization in animal protection to use drones and we have been using them for over 15 years! SHARK's Tiger Video Truck debuted in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 2000 National Finals Rodeo, and activism hasn't been the same since. Even Las Vegas, with all of its lights and glitzy attractions, was no match for the compelling images that brought animal cruelty issues alive when the Tiger's four movie screens first lit up the night. The Tiger truck has traveled all around the nation including Atlanta, Georgia at Coca-Cola's headquarters to protest their support of cruel and deadly rodeos. When the Tiger Truck showed up at Starbucks's headquarters at a shareholders' meeting, Starbucks withdrew their support of rodeos! Exposing animal cruelty and educating the world via YouTube. SHARK has an extremely successful YouTube Channel with over 110 million total views and over 1,200 videos exposing animal cruelty, highlighting important animal issues and educating the public. Everyday over 100,000 people watch one of SHARK's video exposés. All investigators work out of their home when not in the field so no money is spent on an office or overhead expenses which means more money goes to helping the animals. SHARK does not spend money on endless mail donation pleas or TV donation pleas. SHARK averages a dozen investigations a year, more than groups with millions of dollars and large staffs.
