Mission Statement
Willow House is a non-profit, social service organization whose sole mission is to support grieving children, teens, adults, and families. Founded in 1998, Willow House is the only independent organization in the state of Illinois solely dedicated to supporting this population.
About This Cause
Willow House exists because when a child and family experiences the death of loved one, their life and family is changed forever. Willow House provides support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults, and their families grieving a death can share their experiences. Through peer support groups, school outreach programs, special remembrance events, and family consultation, children and adults are able to gain strength by connecting with others who are grieving as well. In turn, they are able to move through their grief experiences... together. Today, Willow House is recognized as a leader in the field locally and nationally. Peer Support Group services have expanded to four locations, Arlington Heights, Chicago, Libertyville and Bannockburn, with plans to expand to additional sites in the future. Since 1998, Willow House has provided direct services to hundreds of families each year. Thousands more have been served by school and community outreach programs that span the entire Chicago region, from the far south suburbs of Chicago to the Wisconsin border and beyond. Through donations, as well as corporate and foundation support, Willow House services are provided at no cost to our families.
