Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide lifetime care for cats deemed unadoptable due to medical needs that are treatable or manageable.
About This Cause
CCAS acts as a 'forever home' for a small number of cats - 10 or 12 usually. This setup is by design as the caregivers who live with and care for these special cats also work (for money!) so there is little time for fundraising. 'CCAS provides lifetime care for 'unadoptable' cats with treatable or manageable conditions to prevent needless euthanasia.' Unfortunately, our mission is not among the top priorities for grantors where the money is generally used to fund orgs that reach large populations. Cat with special needs are often considered disposable - but not at CCAS! That means CCAS and our wonderful kitties rely on the kindness of people like you who care about special cats and want to be a part of their lives. We welcome you to join our small but committed group of volunteers and donors who are changing the lives of one special kitty at a time. I am LuAnn. My husband, Chris, and I opened our home to the special kitties of the sanctuary after adopting our first special needs girl, Izzy. She and most of the others we care for have Manx Syndrome aka Feline Spina Bifida, and related health problems. This condition is manageable and affects their quality of life minimally. But - it is messy so they require a special environment and supplies to manage the housekeeping part of their care. While Chris and I had the space to design the upper floor of our home for these adorable creatures, we can't afford to pay for their care on our own. That's where you come in! So many people tell us that they would love to adopt or foster a special needs cat but are unable to for different reasons. Helping CCAS pay for our kitties' medical needs, special food, medication, and other expenses related to their care is a great way to be a part of the rescue community! We appreciate you - more than you know! LuAnn, Chris, and all the CCAS kitties
