Mission Statement

Inspiring the next generation of conservation leaders, the ICF creates and promotes conservation, ecological, educational and outdoor recreational programs, for children and their families in the state of Illinois.

About This Cause

Since 1994, the Illinois Conservation Foundation has distributed nearly $40 million for programs designed to preserve and enhance Illinois’ precious natural resources. The ICF is a multi-faceted 501(c) (3) organization created as a result of a grassroots conservation effort conceptualized by Illinois’ first Conservation Congress. In 2010, ICF expanded its programming when it accepted a 750-acre gift from the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, creating the Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center where our youth—those who will become tomorrow’s conservation leaders—can explore, grow awareness, foster self-discovery, develop teamwork skills, create memories and become the future stewards of our natural resources and the environment. We need your support to create and implement exciting youth outdoor recreation and educational programs to teach tomorrow’s leaders the value of unplugging and celebrating with “Turning Screen Time into Green Time.” Check out our Web site at www.ilcf.org to learn more about: • How to continue educational and natural resource efforts by making a generous donation to ICF • Attending our annual events and fundraising efforts • How to nominate an Illinois citizen for recognition in our annual Conservation Hall of Fame program • What it takes for an outstanding high school student to apply for an annual Conservation Achievement Scholarship
