Mission Statement
Scattering Resources, Inc. (SR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to drawing sustained attention to the needs of individuals in poverty in Haiti and in the U.S.. A significant portion of SR’s efforts are focused on disadvantaged individuals in Haiti who have limited access to education, training and health care, and who are living, in some cases, in dangerous environments due to wars, natural disasters and unsanitary conditions.
About This Cause
This transition can only come through access to life’s basic necessities: education, adequate health care, and access to employment, training opportunities and counseling. Scattering Resources’ main activities are outreach, awareness and workshops for individuals in the U.S. In Atlanta-area communities, SR collects and distributes clothing and other needed aid, hosts events to draw attention to issues facing families and youth, and provides a host of volunteer opportunities for those who want to give back and sow seeds of good deeds. In Haiti, SR collects needed items in the U.S. and partners with aid agencies on the ground in Haiti to distribute them. Our efforts directly and immediately impact children and families in the poorest nation in our hemisphere. Our Work in the U.S. Things are tough in America for many of us, our relatives, friends and neighbors. Scattering Resources is deeply involved in Atlanta-area communities. We collect and distribute clothing and other needed aid, host events to draw attention to issues facing families and youth, and provide a host of volunteer opportunities for those who want to give back and sow seeds of good deeds. We’ve seen the impact scattering resources can make Our Work in Haiti Even before the January 2010 earthquake, the need for life-saving aid in Haiti, the poorest nation in our hemisphere, was great. Now, although relief efforts have moved out of the news spotlight, the Haitian people continue to rely upon outside help to not only rebuild infrastructure, but also restore hope. Following the earthquake, Scattering Resources hand-delivered urgently needed supplies to families in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel. Now, it continues to collect needed items in the U.S. and partner with aid agencies on the ground in Haiti to distribute them. Our efforts directly and immediately impact children and families.
