About This Cause
At Heart of West Michigan United Way, we’re pursuing a vision of a thriving community for all. We fight poverty in Kent County by uniting resources from donors, workplaces, and grant funders with the most effective programs that intervene in crisis and empower people to build toward self-sufficiency. WHEN YOU GIVE TO UNITED WAY Big or small, one-time, or recurring—your donation to United Way’s Community Grant Fund combines with others to support local programs proven to make a lasting impact. Individuals and families often rely on multiple programs and organizations just to access basic needs. That’s why instead of tackling a single problem, we partner with more than 40 local nonprofits through our Community Grant Fund to remove barriers, provide wraparound services, and fight the root causes of poverty.
