Mission Statement
Metro Detroit Youth Clubs serve over 2,200 Club members in location throughout Metro Detroit. The mission of the Club is to empower youth to reach their full potential through safe, accessible, and inclusive experiences that open doors to a bright future, enabling every Club member to graduate from high school with a plan for college or career, contribute to their community and live a healthy life. Building on 65 years of serving Metro Detroit youth, we are guided by our mission-focused, evidence-based programs focusing on: literacy, mental health services, mentoring, workforce development, and play opportunities in health and fitness.
About This Cause
We are guided by our vision of empowering every Club member, through safe and impactful experiences, to graduate from high school with a plan for college or career, contribute to their community and live a healthy life. We serve youth ages 6-18 in Out-of School Time (OST) programming after school and in the summer in Detroit, Southfield, Royal Oak, and the surrounding communities. For 60 years, we have built and cultivated partnerships with other institutions in the communities we serve – schools, neighborhood coalitions, businesses, volunteer groups, community centers, police and fire departments and other organizations - to align our efforts around common goals that serve our youth.
