About This Cause
We are a United Methodist Church with a mission of Making Disciples who Grow in Knowing, Loving, and Serving Jesus Christ. We have come to know Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to know the joy of following him. Vergennes Church was first planted in 1843. Back then, we were a couple of families gathering together to worship God and make disciples. Vergennes built our first sanctuary in 1864, which continues to serve as the sanctuary today. In 2018, we celebrated our 175th anniversary, the same year we welcomed Pastor Tom Fifer. More than ever, Vergennes Church is committed to fostering an open, authentic, multi-generational community of disciples who reach out into Vergennes Township and beyond with the love of Jesus Christ. What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you’re always welcome at Vergennes Church. Wherever you’re at in your faith journey, you’ll always be accepted as part of the Vergennes family.
