Mission Statement
Mission: To contribute to the sustainability of the Northend Historic Community by providing a healthy lifestyle with diverse cultural, physical, social and educational programs. Vision: We intend to develop the Northend Historic Community by implementing interactive youth development programs for students ages K though 6 grades, creating jobs and housing for individuals within the community, providing resources for underserved and providing healthy lifestyles through organic agriculture and beautification of the community. Core Values: The core values of Northend Christian CDC include honesty, integrity, respect, accountability, sharing, caring and love.
About This Cause
The objectives of Northend Christian CDC include the following: Provide an urban garden that will assist families and the community with healthy foods and beautification. Build a greenhouse so community can have access to healthy foods all year. Provide interactive educational training for students from ages K through 6 grades. Curriculum to include Spanish, Computer, Arts & Crafts, Sign Language, Mathematics, English and educational learning through games. Provide jobs for the unemployed. Provide skills training so individuals can get a job. Acquisition of properties and lands to expand urban gardening, develop farmers market and offices. Build a community library/resource center to support community needs and education. Develop partnerships and collaborations with other Non-profit organizations in the surrounding neighborhood to enhance funding stream and program development. Provide housing for families in need of homes. Work with families to strengthen the community. Collaborate with Block Clubs for community safety and security.
