Mission Statement
The mission of the Midnight Golf Program is to improve under-served young adults' personal and professional development, success and appreciation of the game of golf. Executing that mission comes by way of a structured, 30-week program (3 hour sessions, twice-weekly) for older youth who are nearing high school graduation. Every intention of the program is to equip them with the character, interpersonal skills, knowledge and network to reach their full potential. Since 2001, over 1,400 young people have participated in the Midnight Golf Program.
About This Cause
The Midnight Golf Program (MGP) delivers year-round life skills training, mentoring, professional golf instruction, and exposure that develop character, employability skills, financial knowledge and a host of communication and professional etiquettes that govern successful career navigation. Midnight Golf currently serves over 350 young people in two programs - MGP High School to Career, our core program, and MGP Access Detroit's Future, our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) initiative. Additionally, we provide ongoing support services to our MGP alumni including over 700 students currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at more than 100 colleges and universities across the country. Lastly, we continue to mentor and provide career advisement to an additional 400+ MGP alumni who have graduated from college and are in the early stages of their professional careers.
