Mission Statement

Grace Centers of Hope (GCH) is the oldest and largest faith-based homeless shelter in Southeast Michigan. GCH provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men,women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.

About This Cause

As the largest shelter in Oakland County, Grace Centers of Hope is able to serve up to 200 homeless men, women and children daily, meeting a critical need for emergency and transitional shelter beds. In fact, each year we provide over 50,00 nights of stay and serve nearly 150,000 meals to the disadvantaged in our community--all free of charge. With our programs, GCH is able to provide a full continuum of care to the homeless and disadvantaged in our community. Emergency Services: Provides immediate assistance making available food, safe shelter, clothing, personal care items, medical assistance, and referrals for a 30-day period of time. One-Year Life Skills Program: Provides a residential environment for clients to gain the skills, stability, and self-esteem necessary to become productive members of society through case management and life skills classes. Children's Program: We offer child care for children ages newborn to five years through Hands of Hope Childcare Center, an outdoor playground, tutoring, mentoring, recreational programs and summer camp-- all free of charge for the parents in our programs. Career Center: Teachers, staff and volunteers work directly with our clients to assess learning levels, work history and job skills. They offer assistance with GED preparation, internships, resume preparation, job searching and mock interviews. After-Care: Provides a supportive transition from the shelter setting to independent living in our Little Grace Village affordable housing community for up to 2 years.
