About This Cause
Access to Independence is a disability-led and run organization that serves people of ANY type of disability, and all ages, in south-central Wisconsin. The majority of staff and board members are people with disabilities. The organizations provides an array of direct services, including: Information and referral Peer support Skills training Advocacy Institutional transition and diversion Youth transition and services Assitive technology demonstration, loan, and training Adaptive and inclusive gaming Home accessibility assessments Access to Independence also engages in community impact services, including: Outreach Education Collaboration Systemic advocacy Technical assistance Access to Independence provides accessibility and disability inclusion consultation services for businesses and organizations, including: Website evaluation Building and design evaluation Festival and event evaluation and technical assistance Accessibility and inclusion training
