In Tandem Theatre is committed to creating innovative, exciting live theatre designed to inspire, enlighten, provoke and entertain a diverse audience through comedy, drama, musicals, classics and new works.
About This Cause
In Tandem Theatre was established in 1998 by co-founders Chris and Jane Flieller, who desired a live performing arts organization that focused on the storytelling aspect of live theatre, relying less on costly technical elements. The result was intimate theatre that feature compelling stories designed to inspire, enlighten, provoke and entertain a wide variety of patrons. Believing that live theatre is for everyone, prices are kept affordable and opportunities are made available for students, seniors, military and those on restricted or low income to see performances at reduced rates and at no cost. This is done through discounted ticket prices and pay-what-you-can performances to volunteer opportunities such as ticket taking and attending preview performances. Programming ranges from issue-driven subjects to hilarious off-the-wall comedy. In Tandem has produced the work of local playwrights over twenty times since its incorporation. With rare exception, local professional actors are used in production and administrative positions: actors, directors, designers, technicians and staff. In Tandem's future plans are to incorporate arts education into their season by providing a summer conservatory program for high school students. This program would be a fully immersive experience in which students handle all aspects of running a small arts organization by producing and performing a small summer show, complete with hands on experience with production, marketing, fundraising, box office, etc.
