ArtWorks for Milwaukee prepares youth for tomorrow by providing transferable career skills through art internships today. Vision: All Milwaukee youth have access to career readiness opportunities.
About This Cause
ArtWorks combines youth workforce development with arts education by providing teens with structured paid internships. Under the guidance of a trained Lead Artist, interns work in small groups to create community-based art projects. Internships provide a real-life job experience -- with a project vision, deadlines, and performance reviews. The arts provide opportunities for teens to be successful no matter their learning style or ability. We do not require that teens have prior artistic training to be hired.
